Why maintain your air conditioning?
Air conditioning systems often lose a small amount of refrigerant every year, causing your vehicle’s system to be less able to keep you cool and refreshed. If you air conditioning isn’t regularly serviced, it could fail – meaning certain parts would need replacement.
Regular servicing also helps to keep bacteria and odours at bay. During your car’s air conditioning service, technicians will drain and recharge the system, ensure that the compressor and condenser work correctly, and check hoses, filters, belts, and connections. They will also apply an ultrasonic antibacterial and odour treatment to eliminate microbial, fungal, and bacterial contamination. This servicing process maintains the mechanical integrity of the air conditioning system.
Heritage Audi recommends regular use of your car’s air conditioning year-round:
- Use your car’s air conditioning in hot conditions for comfort and to reduce the risk of driver fatigue
- Use your car’s air conditioning in cold and/or wet weather to dehumidify the cabin and keep the windscreen and windows clear of condensation
- Regularly using your car’s air conditioning throughout the year keeps the system lubricated
