A3 TFSI e

The A3 goes plug-in hybrid.

Powered by fuel, battery or a combination of both - and a purely electric range of up to 41 miles1 per charge - the new A3 Sportback TFSI e is the latest in our range of plug-in hybrids and is the successor to the original Audi plug-in hybrid, the A3 e-tron.

Intelligent efficiency.

As a plug-in hybrid, the new A3 Sportback TFSI e starts electrically and achieves an impressive range of up to 41 miles1 with zero emissions when driven purely by battery – ample for routine journeys. Select hybrid mode, and fuel and battery work together automatically. You can also choose to drive purely with fuel to preserve your battery’s charge – and choose to charge it as you drive.

Easy charging.

The new A3 Sportback TFSI e can be easily charged from a conventional home socket within approximately 4 hours2. And with the myAudi app, you can manage your charging remotely and check your vehicle status information like your remaining fuel and electric range.

And it’s an Audi.

Fuel or electric power - the new A3 Sportback TFSI e offers the best of both. It also offers the best of Audi: Virtual cockpit digital display, and intelligent MMI Navigation plus that learns your favourite routes come as standard. And smartphone interface connects your mobile seamlessly to your car.

  • Industrial plug CEE 32 A, 230 V, long and straight, for the e-tron charging system
  • Mains connection cable (length 1.6 m) with industrial plug CEE 32 A, 1-phase, blue, straight version, for the e-tron charging system compact
  • The mains connection cable with industrial plug and the operating unit of the charging system are coordinated with one another. A subsequent change of the mains connection cable to a different connector type can reduce the available charging power of the overall system. The standard e-tron charging system compact has a vehicle connection cable with a length of 4.5 m. The charging power depends on the plug supplied and on market-specific power grid properties and can be up to 3.7 kW. The charging capacity depends on the type of mains connection plug used, the country-specific voltage and the number of available phases of the power grid and the customer-specific house installation. It can therefore be individually lower.
  • Mode 3 charging cable for public charging 11 kW
  • Charging cable for charging at public AC charging stations (type 2). The cable connects the charging station to the vehicle's AC charging port and enables your vehicle to charge up to 3.7 kW.
  • Vehicle inlet AC type 2
  • Charging access to the high-voltage battery via AC. Necessary in Europe.
  • Household plug type G (UK)for the e-tron charging system
  • Mains connection cable (length 1.6 m, current strength 10 A) with household plug type G for the e-tron charging system compact
  • For charging with alternating current, Audi recommends charging the high-voltage battery from industrial sockets, charging stations or a wallbox. As a result, you achieve higher efficiency and a significantly shorter charging time compared to charging at a domestic socket. Do not charge your vehicle with the mobile e-tron compact charging system in regular operation at household sockets, if a charging option is available at an industrial socket with alternating current (AC) or a public AC or DC charging station.

  • e-tron charging system "compact"
  • The mobile and flexible charging system for easy and convenient charging of your Audi A3 Sportback TFSI e. Can be used at home and wherever an accessible and compatible industrial socket is available.
  • The e-tron compact charging system is a so-called mode 2 charging system and is designed for charging at sockets. It can also be used mobile. LEDs on the control unit indicate the status of the charging system and the charging process. Depending on the household or industrial plug used and the market-specific power grid properties, a charging power of up to 3.7 kW with a 1-phase power grid is possible on the vehicle. The charging power can be switched manually between 100% and 50%. An industrial socket is recommended for quick charging. The lockable and space-saving clip wall bracket is optionally available.
